Replacing SAP to Add Value

Background

We were recently evaluating SAP WM and found ourselves amazed with how bad the solution was. The fact is that SAP has become such a powerful brand, that SAP often gets selected when it is an inappropriate solution for the client situation. SAP has some modules which can be good fits for some client situations, but many which are not. Some applications such as MDM or Solution Manager are toxic and should never be installed under any circumstances because they are simply not competitive. However, others in SAP SCM must be evaluated on a case by case basis. The problem is that unbiased information on this topic can not be found from big consulting companies because their business model does not allow them to. Gartner does a so-so job, but are also on the SAP payroll. Big consulting companies recommend SAP because it is what they are familiar with and because it is how they can bill companies the maximum amount of money. This has little to do with the value provided to the client.

Unhappy With SAP?

If your SAP SCM implementation has gone sour and not met expectations, you will need advice as to whether to keep the solution but make adjustments, combine it with a best of breed solution, or scrap it and go 100% third-party. Objective advice in this area is one of the things we do best. We can typically get to the bottom of things in just a few weeks, and we can provide you with a white paper that can provide all of the necessary explanation as to why from both a technical and business requirement perspective the solution should or should not be kept, and what next steps should be. At that point you can decide if you would like to keep us on to help make the changes, do it yourself, or bring in another firm or independent contractor.
