SAP Supply Chain Project Appraisal
Our Specific SAP Project Appraisal Offering
If you feel that your SAP project is not going as desired or planned, you are not alone. Many SAP projects run into problems. The problems can be in multiple dimensions, however, there is also most likely a list of items that can be placed in a sequence from major to minor issues. Making this list is important because its important to prioritize the problems, so that effort can be brought to the right areas first.
Often problems begin and end with the implementation-consulting partner. The problem is that the main source of information about how the project is going is often from the implementation partner, which is obviously not in a position to be objective about the project.
Our Approach
We take a multi-faceted approach to appraising SAP projects. Our software expertise is in supply chain planning, so from a content perspective we can evaluate the appropriateness of the solution, the configuration, and other technical aspects of the project. However, we also look at the following:
- The documentation quality of the project
- The project organization and planning quality brought by the implementation partner
- How the teams, both from the client and the partner are resourced
- Analysis of the decision-making logic so far
- Master data, integration and reporting aspects of the project
Our recommendations are thoroughly documented and then presented to you so that all the logic for our analysis is clear.
How Long Does it Take?
The duration of the appraisal varies based upon the project size and complexity, however we have been on many SAP projects ourselves, so we see a lot of the same errors made on projects. Therefore, we can complete this work very efficiently. The appraisal can be anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks. This can help you get better value from your implementation partner, and can provide you with the information and analysis to make positive steps to improve the projects.
There are a number of leading edge planning software services that are described in this site. Companies most often cannot do what I describe in this site, which is why there is so much opportunity in supply chain planning in general. I'm Shaun Snapp and I offer the same project and software knowledge that you see in my articles and books in my consulting services.
