We consider ourselves the anti-large consulting company company. We have written extensively how it is very improbable that you will get an objective vendor selection because of the large consulting firm’s revenue models which cause them to recommend software which give them the maximum billing hours. The problems extend beyond this and relate to the lack of application of the scientific method to their recommendations. We have been on projects where the consulting company simply figured out what recommendation the influential members of the client wanted, and then simply recommended that option, with the anaysis used to support the recommendation done after the decision was already made.
