Background

Shaun Snapp is the founder of SCM Focus. He worked at several consulting companies and at i2 Technologies before becoming an independent consultant and staring SCM Focus Consulting. He works both in SAP APO consulting as well as working with various best of breed supply chain planning vendors. Shaun Snapp primarily writes about topics in which he has first hand experience that comes from on-site project work and from companies that contact him for remote advice about their projects. A secondary source of influence is the interest he maintains in academic literature, and he will occasionally write on interesting related papers that he finds. He is very interested in supply chain software from the historical aspect, and much of his writing is influenced by his readings and research into how software has developed, and how and when it became broadly used over time. Shaun writes from an implementer’s perspective, and he is more interested in how software is actually maintained and used in practice than its hypothetical capabilities. This gives him a different voice than many who write in the field.
